8 pm: Arrive early to hang out and acclimatise and meet the team. No DJ’s yet, but all spaces will be open to explore.

8:15: Collect your headphones for the silent Disco Space as our playmaker Simone French leads an inclusive and non-compulsory physical warm-up. This is great for all my dyspraxics, shoe gazers and anyone who needs easing into movement. If that’s not your bag just hang out elsewhere for ten minutes, draw on the UV wall or have a go on one of our gaming stations. 

8:30: Disco Neurotico DJ’s start.

 

We finish at midnight.

Silent Disco with two channels of live DJs and one ambient channel in case you want to tune out and chill. Red Chanel = RAVE. Green Chanel = Groove. Blue Chanel = Ambient. There will be no rapidly strobing lights in the silent disco, but there may be dimly lit areas, projections and bright, slowly pulsing coloured light.

CHAOS SPACE: This the space to compleatly let go. It will be the only space with a loud Soundsystem and flashing lights. Expect Drum & Bass. Giant beachballs and strobing lights. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Calming breakout space with projections, soft lighting, beanbags and optic fibre tails.

 

Curated board gaming area with PS4, retro video gaming and board games (feel free to bring your own games).

 

We have a crafting area with paintable stim toys and UV reactive jewellery making. And if you to communicate your lack of social spoons without actually talking red, yellow or green “social traffic light” ribbon will be available to make a bracelets.  

Our safeguarding and well-being officer Violet will be identifiable in pink hi-viz, as will all our well-being stewards. 

Recovery room: Should you experience panic, meltdown or overwhelm talk to a member of staff identifiable by their pink hi-viz and they’ll take you to our recovery space.

We’re very excited to introduce you to the curator of the gaming area for our Southbank Centre event, and you couldn’t be in better hands. Seamus is a Cofounder of Otter Chaos, Brixton’s Board Game Cafe. From Dixit through to Kabaddi, he loves playing and teaching games so whether you’re an enthusiast or newbie Seamus has you covered.

Licenced bar, snacks, tea, coffee and soft drinks.

Disco Neurotico - Lowry - Salford

Disco Neurotico Lowry 8pm – Midnight 31/08/2024

 IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THIS EVENT: Due to a variety of circumstances we've had to make the tough but necessary decision to lose the noisy space. As autistic people ourselves we understand that last minute changes can be difficult and we apologize. All the noisy space DJs will now be playing on the 3rd channel of the silent disco in Studio 1. A new orientation video will be up on our Instagram and here on this event page from midday Friday.

AYY DEN: International DJ, producer Ayy Den’s boundless sets fuse UK Funky, Jersey club, garage, grime, and footwork. Her performances have reached global acclaim, Ayy Den’s mission is clear - a fusion of her musical roots with a focus on underground artists and progressive contemporary beats. With a dynamic stage presence, she continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

Silent Disco playmaker 1: Ali Matthews is a performer and artist working across theatre, music and video. She leads on her own artistic projects and also loves to work on others' projects. Recent work include eco folk-horror piece MUSHROOM LANGUAGE (The Lowry/touring) and directing for Scarlett-Rose Lovette's forthcoming neuroqueer gig-theatre piece PSEUDO (also The Lowry). She tours work around the UK and beyond, and also makes music under the moniker Pink Oyster. She also loves to dance and facilitate safe, inclusive and fun spaces for creative souls. Originally from the USA, she now makes Manchester her home and looks forward to throwing some moves with y'all on the floor. 

Silent disco play maker 2: Tom Halls is a Performance Artist, Filmmaker, Director and Co-Artistic director of TomYumSim, an absurdly fantastical performance duo. From Boon wurrung & Wurundjeri Land (Melbourne, Australia), now calling the UK home, he focuses on disrupting normalised narratives.
